1. Interlake Contract Site Coordinator

Workplace Education Manitoba (WEM) is seeking a Contract Site Coordinator for our Interlake WEST Centre located in Selkirk, MB.

POSITION

The successful candidate will serve as the first impression for our office. They will be a self-starter who is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Interlake WEST Centre including: support with online training, provide exceptional customer service, development of promotional material to market our office, admin duties, provide support to coordinators and instructors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

–     Manage all forms of communication for the Centre (phone, email, in person, online).

–     Assist Instructors throughout the province with managing online workshops. –      Develop and maintain all of the Interlake’s print marketing media.

–     Support and assist with the coordination of the day-to-day activities for the Interlake team.

–     Perform administrative responsibilities such as preparing correspondence, managing files, and data input.

DESIRED SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

–     1 years of administration experience

–     Strong communication and organizational skills

–     Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure

–     Excellent computer knowledge in programs such as MS Suite, Google docs, Social Media, databases, print design programs.

–     Experience assisting with online platforms for presentations and training.

–     Ability to create professional forms of print media (newsletters, posters, etc) –  Hours will range between 15-25 hrs/week (Main workdays are Tuesday & Thursday 9-3, the rest is flexible)

–     Some driving throughout the Interlake may be required (mileage covered)

2. West Instructor

Workplace Education Manitoba is seeking a Contract Instructor to facilitate and instruct Essential Skills in our Selkirk WEST Centre and Interlake Region.

POSITION

The successful candidate will work with the Interlake team to; help learners connect the skills they are learning to practical application in the workplace, intake learners, administer assessments, run WEST workshops, support online training, admin work.  They will be the face of WEM when working with WEST learners. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer intakes for new learners
  • Develop and prep individualized learning programs
  • Coordinate and administer assessments
  • Work with local agencies to support individuals
  • Workshop presentation
  • Assist Instructors throughout the province with managing online workshops

DESIRED SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Essential Skills instruction in the areas of computer, reading, and writing
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Adult learning facilitation, assessment, and reporting
  • Experience working with multi-skill, multi-level groups
  • Experience customizing and building lesson plans with a workplace goal in mind
  • Willing to travel within the Interlake Region if required (mileage covered)
  • Experience assisting with online platforms for presentations and training.
  • Online instruction experience or willingness to learn

Scheduled days are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am – 3pm in Selkirk with the potential for more.

3. Workplace Facilitator

WORKPLACE ESSENTIAL SKILLS INSTRUCTOR

Workplace Education Manitoba (WEM) is looking to contract with an Essential Skills Instructor. Join our Interlake team and make a difference by helping people become successful at work or training!

POSITION

In this contract position, you will have the opportunity to develop and deliver customized training to meet Essential Skills needs in workplaces across the Interlake region. Training will be both in-person and virtual as you work closely with the Regional Coordinator.

Responsibilities;

  • Develop customized training material to meet workplace Essential Skill needs. Example: presentation, power points, learner workbooks, etc
  • Deliver interactive training in community workshops and in workplaces
  • Provide detailed training reports to coordinator
  • Drive personal vehicle throughout the Interlake region with reimbursement for mileage.

Qualifications and skills required;

  • Experience teaching in a virtual setting
  • Experience with relevant distance education technology tools such as Zoom technology, Microsoft Teams, Collaborate Blackboard etc.
  • Strong computer and technical skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organization and self-management skills
  • Experience developing training material
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Flexibility and Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Experience working with Kirkpatrick model of evaluation an asset.
