Melenie Olfert

For several years, Melenie has worked as an independent consultant sharing her knowledge and expertise through leadership projects and workplace training. With a background in adult education and training, Melenie is now a published writer, as well as an accomplished speaker on intercultural & diversity in the workplace, human resources and leadership development. She has vast experience training the nine Essential Skills required for workplace success and has been acknowledged by clients of the long-term benefits training has inspired.

Further to her training experience, Melenie is an instructor with the University of Winnipeg, PACE Program, where she teaches Cultural Studies, Business Communication, and Leadership Development. She is also the co-facilitator of the Language Interpreter Training Program which supports language diversity in work and community settings. To give back to the community, Melenie volunteers in preparing newcomers in writing their Canadian Citizenship exam as well as teaches English as an additional language to adult learners.

My niche area would be all the different elements of diversity – cultural, generational, gender, disabilities, etc. I also do a lot of work on Workplace Communication. My philosophy is to always follow the adult learning principles in training as I believe in collaborative learning. My approach to diversity training is to always build on respect and inclusion when working with others in a diverse workplace.
