Indigenous Partners

Workplace Education Manitoba (WEM) has a long history of collaborating with Indigenous partners through Skills For Success development. At the core of these relationships, is WEM’s commitment to working together in a good way to realize meaningful Truth and Reconciliation.

Every partnership begins by developing an understanding of our partner’s goals, priorities, and needs. This guides us on how Skills for Success assessment and training solutions can contribute toward achieving those outcomes.

WEM works together with Indigenous partners to ensure Skills for Success solutions are delivered inclusive of Indigenous culture, in a relevant and respectful manner to engage and empower Indigenous learners. Solutions are designed to meet learners where they are at, recognizing that we all have skills that are developed through a variety of prior learning experiences, and support them to move forward.

This includes supporting Indigenous learners to:

  • prepare for entry into the workforce
  • increase their skills to perform in a current job or advance into other jobs
  • prepare for further training or education, such as a post-secondary education program or trades training

For Nations and Indigenous employers, preparing community members with Skill for Success creates the ability to adapt to changing circumstances to support and develop a growing economy.

Partnering with WEM starts with a simple conversation. To start a conversation, please contact:
